St Ann’s Living is located in the scenic suburb of Old Beach on the Derwent River in Hobart’s Eastern Shore, about 15 minutes from Hobart CBD. Old Beach is within the municipality of Brighton, Tasmania.
The estate has been developed into one of the most beautifully designed, environmentally friendly and affordable lifestyle villages in Tasmania, with a 100-bed aged care facility close by.
In addition to a selection of 2 and 3 bedroom home configurations, the village also includes community gardens, safe walking areas, links to lifestyle activities, a library and free access to the recently completed Verve Community Centre which includes a hair salon.
How Land Lease works
At St Ann’s Living, you own the home and lease the land it sits on. This style of ownership separates the cost of the land from the cost of the home, so you’re not paying for the land upfront. That frees up money for the things you’ve been putting off, whether that’s a new car, a caravan, or that long-awaited trip. We call this “equity release.”
When you buy a home at St Ann’s Living, you enter a contract to purchase the home, stapled to a site agreement, creating a similar outcome to buying a traditional home. Your long-term lease secures the land for decades, paid via a fortnightly site fee. The lease gives you the exclusive right to occupy the land and use and enjoy the village’s facilities.
